General Information

This license is available only for private individuals applying pesticides to their own property or to property rented, leased to them or to their employer.

This certification requires a passing grade (70%) on the Private exam and a passing grade (70%) on the General Standards (Core) Exam. This certification  must be renewed every 4 years either by testing or with 8 CEU's.

Cost of the exam: Free

Cost of the license itself: $60

Cost of renewal: $60
 

Renewal Information

CEUs needed for renewal:
                                          4CEUs
in the Private category plus
                                          4 CEUs
in the Core category
              
   for a total of   8 CEUs

                    Note: 1 CEU (C
ontinuing Education Unit) equals 50 minutes of classroom time.

Renewal period: every 4 years

        Note: This is a State of Florida certification issued by the Bureau of Compliance Monitoring (BCM), a division of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (DACS). Study Manual Information

The exam study manuals are:
                        "Applying Pesticides Correctly"  (SM-1) $7.00, 
                                    also called the "Core" manual  and
                        "The Private Applicator Pest Control Training Manual" (SM-53) $7.00

These exam study manuals are available from the IFAS Bookstore in Gainesville, either by ordering online or by calling 1-800-226-1764.
