Pest Control Operator License and Test Information

General Information

The PCO license, is available only commercial contractors applying pesticides to their customers property. This certification is only available to those with documentation of 3 years experience working "under" someone with the same category of this certification. An application is required. There are 4 different categories within this certification - General Household Pest, known as GHP, Lawn & Ornamental (L&O), termite and fumigation. This certification requires a passing grade (75%) on the PCO exam.

Renewal: This certification must be renewed annually either by testing or with 2 Core CEU's plus 2 CEU's per category. Renewal is due by June1st of each year. After July 1st, there will be a $50.00 late fee. The license cannot be renewed after 180 days beyond June 1st.

Renewal Information

CEUs needed for license renewal:
                                          2 CEUs
in each appropriate category plus
                                          2 CEUs
in the Core category
              
   for a total of  4 CEUs
                    Note: 1 CEU (C
ontinuing Education Unit) equals 50 minutes of classroom time.

Renewal period: annually

        Note: This is a State of Florida certification issued by the Bureau of Entomology and Pest Control (BEPC), a division of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (DACS).
